How Shall We Live?
We are each expressions of a fundamental reality, an essence that some call God, some spirit, some consciousness, some love. It doesn't matter what you call it. It doesn't care. It is beyond names. But it is real, and thus we all belong to the same family. My blood is the same as yours, my heart is the same as yours, my body is the same as yours. We seem to stand apart from each other, but our essence is one. We only seem to be different, but we are all parts of a whole. Naturally, whatever any one part does touches and affects the whole.

Telling The Truth
If we want to transform ourselves, to free ourselves from falsehood, to liberate ourselves from anxiety and fear and conditioning, to experience truth, then we will have to tell the truth. We will have to put our actual lives on the line. All transformation begins from where we are, by admitting what is true. This might be painful at first, but telling the truth will ultimately bring exquisite health, joy, and radiance to our lives. The truth will set us free...

Meditation On Peace
Today, there is perhaps no more urgent question than this: How can I make peace real? How are we to meet violence with nonviolence, to meet war with peace, to meet fear with love, to meet hatred with compassion? Nothing To Fear
My friend Tim Piering recently invited me to join him for a helicopter tour of Los Angeles. Immediately, my mind filled with excuses, searching for just the right one that would allow me to graciously decline. My conscience must have been switched on that day, because I was unable to fabricate an excuse. "If you are not going to go," my conscience said, "then at least tell Tim the truth: you are terrified..."
