This article will examine some commonly recognized distortions in devotional religion and go on to examine some uncommonly recognized ones in eastern dharma. It is time to challenge and deconstruct the western romanticization of eastern paradigms in the same way the distortions of western spirituality have been so glaringly clear for some time now to serious seekers.
