I recently posed a question: "If you could have anything you want in your life, what would that be? And what would it do for you?" Here are a few of the replies (and along with that, I've shared some of my own experiences):
From Adir: To be engulfed in silence and not fall back into illusion of losing it. To become clear of all the debris. I would live here now and see with the eyes of God. To shine the truth from within to all eternity. These are just words and ideas but perhaps my life wouldn´t change at all. There is nothing to be changed in it. I would have eyes to see and ears to hear...
Vidya: The difference between "I would live… I would have…" and "I live…" and "I have…" is very small. It’s just a matter of being fully present, here, now. Which is what the Ascension attitudes help us with.
From Possum: If I could have anything I wanted in life, it would be self-esteem and self-love… with those two simple tools/facets, I would be able to love others unconditionally, as I wish to be loved. I wouldn't take offense at what others say. And I would find it so much harder to get caught up in the illusions of ego. And anything I desire would be possible as I wouldn't destroy my dreams with the thoughts I wasn't worth it.
Vidya: Self-esteem and self-love are not something you acquire. They’re something you choose for. And you can choose for them at any moment. It simply means being willing to let go of the ideas and thoughts that you’re not worthy. The one thing standing between Reality and our conceptions of Reality is realizing the difference between conceptions and Reality. You are always loved completely. That’s the Reality. Now all you have to do is give up the conception that you aren’t.
From Kizmet: Right now, if I could have anything I wanted ... it would be to live my life fearlessly. My own fears keep me a prisoner chained. If the chains of fear were gone, I would fly like an eagle. Instead, I am tethered and hooded (by my fears) like a hawk.
Vidya: Ah! Do I know this one! You know how to get rid of your fears? By plowing right into them, and coming out on the other side. Again, it’s a choice. F.E.A.R. is False Evidence Appearing Real. And the way you know that, for sure, is to charge into all that you fear. And seeing how silly it all was. Takes courage, doesn’t it? But well worth it!
From Searcher: I would choose to be fully surrendered in each moment so that God could move me like a paint brush over the canvas of life with no resistance. I feel this would bring me deep peace and joy to consistently be one with the universal flow/divine intention.
Vidya: But you are. It’s the only thing happening in this Universe. Even when we think we’re not, we are. That’s the cosmic joke. So we learn to give up our thoughts about un-surrender and choose not to resist. You are "one with the universal flow/divine intention." You can’t not be.
From Snowflake: If I could have anything I wanted, then it would be everything everyone has mentioned. Freedom from fear, freedom from limiting beliefs, the ability to let go and surrender and self-love. Either one would bring happiness into my life. Once I experience constant joy, then every problem would seem insignificant.
Vidya: If you wait until you experience constant joy, you’ll be waiting forever. Fear is a choice. Surrender is a choice. Ascension helps us to see that, and realize the enormity of that Truth. You choose to go past your fears. You choose to surrender. And THEN you experience constant joy. Won’t happen the other way around.
From Toni: From the time I first started Ascension, there was only one thing I wanted. That is to REALLY live in the moment. Not just once in awhile, or not just for conversation's sake, not on weekends! To really do it, every day all day! And by really living in the minute to really see what the Universe would do with my life.
Now I live in my motor home with my cat. When I feel like it, I drive to a new town and live there for awhile. People ask me where I am going and I say, "I don't know." And that is true. I don't have questions or answers... I just am.
Vidya: Changing your life around like that must have been a little scary. But it looks like you really chose for what you wanted. And now life becomes easy...
From Ryan22: If I could have anything in the world, it would be to possess the power to heal any and all I see upon my very wish or presence. I realize this is extremely lofty…
I originally contemplated to experience peace, bliss, joy, and love in every moment. Yet, I then had to consider what would allow me to attain this… One of the most difficult thing for me accept, is seeing people suffer deeply and feeling powerless (even though I know I am not).
