What is the real you? You know it's not the little "you" commonly called the ego, or the illusion. And you also know it's called the higher self, the real YOU, the I AM. So what's the difference? There's only one consciousness -- for everyone! We are all part of one, big, infinite consciousness. So why don't we always experience that?
It's because we have choice. We have free will to choose to be whatever we want. And a lot of people are choosing to be their small self most of the time rather than their large Self. But that doesn't mean the "Big S" Self isn't always present. It is. But Self doesn't judge, or criticize or concern Itself with how you want to be. He/She/It simply loves you (infinitely) just exactly the way you are. Self Loves. Period. End of sentence.
Why would God love the illusion? It's because you are loved exactly as you are. So when you say the First Love technique, you are in resonance with the Higher Self. When you accept your life as it is, when you praise your life, having gratitude for body and universe, and totally love yourself (and therefore everyone else) exactly as you are in this moment, NOW, then you are in the consciousness of God.
So yes, that means you use First Love when you're mad at yourself, when you make "mistakes," when you dislike what you're doing or thinking, whatever you're doing. Even though First Love might sound like baloney to you, even though you don't want to love yourself as you see yourself and can't imagine how Self could love you, you just think it and accept your "lowly" self. Then voila!
You begin to know deep-down what love is, what it is to love yourself and others, and you know the total truth of First Love -- which is that your small self is simply a conception. It never really existed. It's only a thought, and therefore an "illusion."
But it's cool because your choice caused you to believe in it, and now your choice -- (to love yourself exactly as you are, exactly as God loves you, to accept yourself totally -- no matter what's happening), this new choice will take you to the realization that you ALWAYS were big S Self and could never not be.That's what the Ishaya techniques do. They cause us to stop believing in illusion, in conceptions, in thoughts, and bring us to experience of the Reality of What IS, which is that You are Love.
Wonderful, isn't it? Could you actually love yourself when you're screaming angry, when you're totally down, when you're in a "horrible" state? Why not? You, your Self, absolutely does!
