Most people do not realize the power of corporate sponsorship and why they need it. You can get corporate sponsorship for almost any event or project from concerts, festivals, fundraisers, book launches, networking events, garden clubs, book clubs, seminars, art events, to sports events, etc.
Of course there are exceptions to the rule, but thousands upon thousands of companies (small and large) are looking for ways to build their brand at the best cost. In this market, general advertising is just not cutting it because we are overloaded with commercials and advertisements. The next best thing is corporate sponsorship.
What is corporate sponsorship and why do I care, you might ask? This is where companies basically pay you to advertise for them in a sense. It is a bartering system of sorts. They give you cash or product (sometimes both) and you give them the right to have their product or service “advertised” during your event.
Meaning they will probably have on site banners, giveaways, verbal recognition, inclusion in all marketing materials for the event, etc. It is the best way of getting their products or services in front of people that are more likely to pay attention and be receptive to doing business with the them. So it becomes a win-win situation where the sponsors gets brand awareness for their products or services and the event organizer gets their event or project expenses covered, or at the very least, the majority of their expenses decreased. It is already stressful enough to plan any event or project, wouldn’t it be better to have one less thing to worry about (that worry being the biggest worry - budget/finance).
The reasons why you need Corporate Sponsorship are as follows;
-- It is the best way to get your event or project paid for on someone else’s dollar. Therefore, allowing you to have the best event or project possible with less stress.
-- It helps you to build credibility if you have not already established credibility with consumers and businesses.
-- Having corporate sponsorship can help you secure publicity and press coverage for your event or project which can only help to grow or expand your event or project to massive heights. (Oddly enough it can also help you secure even more sponsorship!)

Corporate sponsorship can come from small local companies to huge international companies and it can range from as little as $250 to well over $10 million. It is a win-win situation for all involved and allows you to focus on making your event or project a success rather than worrying about how you will cover your expenses.
So the next time you are thinking about putting together any event or project, whether it is personal, hobby, or business related, be sure to give a very strong thought to securing corporate sponsorship.
